  First stable release of 4.2.

  • Support for multiple ISPs through one Ethernet interface
  • NFLOG support
  • Improved operational logging
  • COMMENT lines in macro bodies
  • The mangle table is now automatically reloaded by the 'refresh' command.
  • Through the use of Cygwin (http://www.cygwin.com), a Windows system may act as an 'administrative' system in a network with Shorewall-lite firewalls.
  • Ruleset efficiency improvements
  • Support for u32 classification filters
  • Support for Intermediate Functional Block (IFB) Devices for shaping of incoming traffic.

  • Support for IPv6
  • Traffic Shaping and Routing (Multi-ISP) moved into separate product
