Milestone: Shorewall 4.2
Due in 4 months (12/31/08)
First stable release of 4.2.
- Support for multiple ISPs through one Ethernet interface
- NFLOG support
- Improved operational logging
- COMMENT lines in macro bodies
- The mangle table is now automatically reloaded by the 'refresh' command.
- Through the use of Cygwin (http://www.cygwin.com), a Windows system may act as an 'administrative' system in a network with Shorewall-lite firewalls.
- Ruleset efficiency improvements
- Support for u32 classification filters
- Support for Intermediate Functional Block (IFB) Devices for shaping of incoming traffic.

- Support for IPv6
- Traffic Shaping and Routing (Multi-ISP) moved into separate product
